Data Deletion Instructions

You can have the information WalTech holds about you deleted, including anything we received when you messaged or commented on us through Facebook or Instagram. Here is how.

Ask us to delete it

Email contact@waltechint.com with the subject line Delete my data, and tell us:

  • The name you used with us.
  • The email address, phone number, Facebook name, or Instagram handle you contacted us from.
  • Whether you want everything deleted, or only part of it (for example, only your Facebook and Instagram messages).

That is all we need. There is no charge, and you do not need an account with us. We may ask one question to confirm it is really you before we delete anything.

What happens next

We confirm we received your request within 3 business days, complete the deletion within 30 days, and email you when it is done.

What gets deleted

  • Your messages and comments to us on Facebook and Instagram, and the profile details we stored with them.
  • Your email, text, and website chat conversations with our support team.
  • Your contact record and any notes on it.
  • Readings and history from any WalTech unit registered to you.
  • Your WalTech mobile app account, if you have one.

What we may have to keep

We keep order and warranty records for up to 7 years, because tax law and warranty law require it. If you ask us to delete everything, we still hold those records, but we reduce them to the minimum the law requires and stop using them for anything else.

If there is an open safety matter or an open legal claim involving you, we keep what relates to it until it is resolved.

Removing our access from Facebook or Instagram

You can also cut off our access from inside your own account, without contacting us:

  • Facebook: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → find WalTech → Remove.
  • Instagram: Settings → Website Permissions → Apps and Websites → find WalTech → Remove.

This stops any further information reaching us. It does not delete what we already have, so email us as well if that is what you want.
