Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

WalTech International Inc. ("WalTech", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, buy our products, or use our Vision 2.0 thermostat service, and how we use that information.

Who we are

WalTech International Inc. Contact: 1-844-WALTECH (925-8324) or contact@waltechint.com.

Information we collect

  • Contact information when you text, email, or chat with us: name, phone number, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Order information when you buy: shipping address, billing address, payment method (processed by Shopify; we do not store full card numbers), and order history.
  • Site analytics: pageviews, device type, browser, referring source, and approximate region, collected via PostHog and similar tools, including session activity.
  • Device telemetry from thermostats with an active subscription: temperature and humidity readings, mode and setting changes, alerts, automation activity, firmware version, and connectivity status. Used to provide the service, trigger alerts, and improve reliability.
  • Location and GPS data: for units and features that use location, we may collect approximate or precise device location (GPS coordinates) to provide tracking, mapping, and location-based features in the app.
  • Connectivity data: WiFi and cellular connection metadata used to deliver remote features and diagnose service issues.
  • Account information if you register for the WalTech mobile app: email, password (stored as a hash), RV profile, and paired device IDs.
  • Support records: chat transcripts from the website chat widget, support tickets, and warranty claims.
  • Social media messages and comments when you contact us on Facebook or Instagram: the content and time of your message or comment, and your public profile name, username, and profile picture.

How we use it

  • Fulfill orders and send shipping and receipt notifications.
  • Provide the Services, including alerts, remote control, automations, and diagnostics.
  • Respond to support requests and improve our products and Services.
  • Understand how visitors use our site so we can make it better.
  • Send product updates or promotional messages only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe anytime.
  • Protect against fraud and misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed:

  • Shopify: checkout, order management, and payment handling.
  • Analytics providers (such as PostHog): website and product analytics.
  • Shipping carriers: your name and address, so packages arrive.
  • Cellular and connectivity providers: connectivity metadata needed to deliver service.
  • AI and cloud service providers: to operate app features such as the WalTech AI assistant, to help our support team draft replies, and to host data securely. Our AI provider is Anthropic (Claude). Anthropic does not use your information to train its models.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): when you message or comment on us there, because that is where the conversation lives.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

Messages you send us on Facebook and Instagram

You can reach our support team through Facebook Messenger, Instagram direct messages, and by commenting on our Facebook and Instagram posts. When you do, we receive your message or comment, the time you sent it, and your public profile name, username, and profile picture. We use this only to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation for the next person who helps you.

We do not receive your password, your friends or followers list, your private posts, or anything else on your account. Only what you send us and what your profile already shows publicly.

To answer you accurately, our support team uses an AI assistant that suggests a reply. The content of your conversation, and the readings from your thermostat if the question is about your unit, may be sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce that suggestion. A WalTech person reads and approves every reply before it is sent to you. Your information is not used to train AI models.

You can remove our access at any time from your own account settings, and you can ask us to delete what we hold. See Data Deletion Instructions.

Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies to keep the site working (for example, your shopping cart and the chat widget) and analytics cookies to measure site performance. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some site features may stop working.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the EU and UK (GDPR), and similar jurisdictions have the rights granted by those laws. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email contact@waltechint.com; we may need to verify your identity first.

Deleting your information

You can ask us to delete what we hold about you, including anything we received through Facebook or Instagram. There is no charge and you do not need an account with us. Step-by-step instructions are on our Data Deletion Instructions page.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Services and provide information at your own risk, and you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

Children

Our products and website are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and location

We keep order records for up to 7 years for tax and warranty purposes, support transcripts for up to 2 years, analytics for up to 12 months, and device telemetry while your subscription is active plus a reasonable period after. We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States and by our service providers.
