Why WalTech for Your Home

What Your Current Home Thermostat Can't Do

Built-in cellular. No WiFi? No problem.

Most home thermostats need WiFi to work remotely. WalTech has a built-in cellular SIM (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon). If your internet goes down, you still have full control.

WalTech AI. Talk to your thermostat.

"Set my house to 72." "What's the humidity?" "Turn on the bedroom plug." WalTech AI understands plain English and handles it instantly.

Smart Hub. Connect sensors and plugs.

WalTech connects to smart plugs, smart relays, and temperature/humidity sensors via Bluetooth. Control devices and monitor your home from one screen.

Pet safety over cellular.

Set temperature thresholds. If your house gets too hot or too cold, WalTech sends alerts over cellular. Even if your internet is down, your pets are protected.

Compatible Home Thermostats

WalTech Replaces ~95% of Home Thermostats

If your home uses standard 24V AC relay-based wiring (R, W, Y, G, C wires), WalTech is compatible. That covers the vast majority of home and commercial HVAC systems.

Standard 24V AC Home & Commercial Thermostats

WalTech Compatible

WalTech replaces thermostats from Honeywell, Google Nest, Ecobee, and most other home brands. If your system uses standard 24V AC with R, W, Y, G, C wires, you're good to go. Heat pump systems with B/O wires are also supported.

  2. Remove old thermostat. Photo the wires and their labels (R, W, Y, G, C)
  3. Mount WalTech using the included template and screws
  4. Connect: Pin 7 = R (+24V AC), Pin 8 = C (24V common)
  5. Connect: Pin 5 = W (Heat 1), Pin 4 = Heat 2 (if applicable)
  6. Connect: Pin 2 = Y (AC compressor), Pin 6 = Jumper from Pin 7
  7. Heat pump B/O wire? Connect to Pin 3 (Heat 3) and configure in settings
  8. Power on, select "Coleman / Airxcel / Home Thermostat," and you're done

Only connect the wires you have. Standard systems typically have R, W, Y, G, and C.

FAQ

Home Thermostat Replacement Questions

Can WalTech replace my home thermostat?

Yes. WalTech is compatible with approximately 95% of standard 24V AC relay-based home thermostats. If your system uses R, W, Y, G, and C wires, WalTech works. This covers most Honeywell, standard programmable, and basic digital thermostats.

Does WalTech work with heat pumps?

Yes. WalTech has a B and O feature for heat pump systems. Connect your B or O wire to Pin 3 (Heat 3) and configure it in the settings screen. Your heat pump will work as Stage 1, with the furnace as backup Stage 2.

What voltage does WalTech support?

WalTech has a patented wide power acceptance from 7.5V to 32V, both AC and DC. For homes, it runs on standard 24V AC. For RVs, it runs on 12V DC. One thermostat works in both environments.

Why use WalTech instead of a Nest or Ecobee?

WalTech has built-in cellular (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) so it works even when your internet goes down. It also has WalTech AI assistant, a Smart Hub for sensors and smart plugs, and pet safety alerts over cellular. Nest and Ecobee are WiFi-only. If your internet drops, they can't reach you.

What wires does WalTech need?

Standard home wiring: R (24V power) to Pin 7, C (common) to Pin 8, W (heat) to Pin 5, Y (AC) to Pin 2. Plus a jumper from Pin 7 to Pin 6 for relay power. If you have a heat pump, connect the B/O wire to Pin 3.

Do I need a C-wire?

WalTech needs a common wire (C-wire) for power. Most modern home HVAC systems have one. If yours doesn't, you may need to run one or use a C-wire adapter. Text us at 1-844-WALTECH and we can help you figure it out.

Can WalTech work in both my home and my RV?

Yes. WalTech's wide voltage range (7.5V-32V, AC and DC) means one thermostat works in a 24V AC home and a 12V DC RV. You can buy one for each and manage them both from the same WalTech app.

What is WalTech AI?

WalTech AI is our built-in AI assistant. Tell WalTech AI what you need in plain English: "set my house to 72," "what's the humidity," "turn on the living room plug." It handles everything without you touching a button.

Do I need an electrician?

No. If you can use a screwdriver and follow labeled wires, you can install WalTech. It's the same process as installing any home thermostat. If you get stuck, text us at 1-844-WALTECH.
