Connect your WalTech Vision 2.0 to the internet for remote monitoring and control via the WalTech app.
Overview
There are two ways to control your WalTech Vision 2.0:
Manually - use the built-in touchscreen directly on the thermostat. No internet required.
Remotely - use the WalTech mobile app over the internet. Requires either cellular or WiFi.
You can choose between the built-in cellular connection (no WiFi needed) or connect to a WiFi network. Both options give you full remote access through the WalTech app.
Built-in Cellular
The WalTech Vision 2.0 has a built-in global SIM card that automatically connects to the strongest available cellular network - including T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. No separate hotspot or router needed.
This is completely separate from your phone's data plan. The WalTech uses its own dedicated data connection through a WalTech subscription.
How to Enable Cellular
On the thermostat: Swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap the Mobile Data icon. Make sure it turns green.
In the WalTech app: Go to Settings, then tap the Subscription tab. Toggle the subscription ON.
Confirm: Look for the 4G signal icon on the top right of the thermostat screen. When it appears, you are connected.
WiFi Setup
If you prefer to connect over WiFi instead of cellular, follow these steps:
Swipe down from the top of the thermostat screen.
Tap and hold the WiFi icon to open WiFi settings.
Turn WiFi ON using the toggle.
Select your WiFi network from the list.
Enter your WiFi password and tap Connect.
Once connected, the WiFi icon will appear in the top right corner of the thermostat screen.
Cellular Plans
Remote access through the WalTech app requires an active subscription. Two plans are available:
Yearly plan: $7.99/month (billed annually)
Monthly plan: $10.99/month (billed monthly)
No hidden fees. No contracts. Cancel anytime from the app.
Tip: You can still see everything on the thermostat screen for free, even without subscribing. The subscription is only needed for remote access through the mobile app.
Connectivity Note: WalTech is an IoT device that relies on internet connectivity for remote features. Temporary network issues (carrier outages, weak signal areas, WiFi drops) may occasionally interrupt the remote connection. If this happens, a simple reboot of the thermostat usually resolves the issue. The touchscreen always works regardless of connectivity.
Frequently Asked Questions
